The insulating substrate (usually composed of resin matrix, reinforcing materials, fillers, flame retardants, etc.) is the skeleton and insulating body of the PCB.
| Project Background
The insulating substrate (usually composed of resin matrix, reinforcing materials, fillers, flame retardants, etc.) is the skeleton and insulating body of the PCB. The composition of the insulating substrate is related to electrical insulation, mechanical strength, dimensional stability, heat resistance (Tg, Td), moisture resistance, flame retardancy, coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), etc. These properties directly affect the reliability of the PCB, the soldering yield, the long-term use stability, and the safety of the final product.
| Project Overview
The test is carried out by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PYGCMS). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR): It is good at qualitative analysis of polymer functional groups and is sensitive to the main organic components (resin type). Pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PYGCMS): It is good at providing molecular information of pyrolysis products and has strong ability to identify resin types and additives (especially small-molecule additives and flame retardants).
| Test Objective
1. Quality control;
2. Research and development innovation;
3. Failure analysis and root cause tracing, etc.
| Testing Standards
GB/T 6040-2019;
SN/T 5689-2024 Plastics - Identification of polymers - Pyrolysis gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry
| Service Products / Fields
Consumer electronics, automotive electronics, electronic manufacturing, PCB design and materials science, aerospace, communications, new-energy electronics, etc.
| Project Advantages
1. Full coverage of components, enabling the establishment of a product database for easy quality control;
2. Efficient, rapid, and minimally invasive detection. FTIR is nearly non-destructive; Py-GC/MS only requires a milligram-level sample, which is friendly to precious failed parts.
