The presence of microorganisms may lead to product contamination and spoilage, biofilm formation blocking pipelines, and compromised reliability of experimental or production results.
| Project Background
Total bacterial count testing is a core biological indicator for evaluating the degree of microbial contamination in purified water. It directly reflects the disinfection effectiveness and microbial control capacity of water treatment systems (such as storage and distribution systems). The presence of microorganisms may lead to product contamination and spoilage, biofilm formation blocking pipelines, and compromised reliability of experimental or production results.
| Project Overview
This test analyzes the total bacterial count in purified water samples using the nutrient agar culture method and the test strip method. The working principle of this method is based on the theory of microbial cultivability. A quantified water sample is dropped onto the surface of a solid culture medium and incubated under suitable conditions for a specified duration. The colonies formed on the filter membrane are then counted as Colony-Forming Units (CFU), thereby quantitatively evaluating the total number of culturable aerobic microorganisms present in the water sample.
